Balls putting drill / Train focus as part of your golf mental game preparation

Making more putts is a lot about getting it on your intended line, and that’s all about club face awareness. And so when we look at setting up a shot, we certainly would want to aim at our target, but we need to deliver the club back to square. 

I found out that I was hitting a lot of the putts to the right. My clubface was open and the best drill for me to get my clubface back to square is a two ball drill.

We’re actually going to hit two balls at the exact same time. I want them to go the exact same distance. This takes a little bit of focus … something you can train for as a part of your golf mental game preparation. 

If the inside ball goes too far, that shows me that I was a little bit open. So, do the two ball drill over and over again and you’ll start to be more aware of the club face. You’ll focus better and if we have a square club face, we’re going to make more putts.
